Welcome to this month’s edition of the Project Management Insights newsletter.

Five thoughts on project management for October 2023:

1) Project management can be stressful work! Rachael Keeble asks PMs How can we better support the wellbeing of our teams? Rachael provides eight tactics that we can undertake to help with team wellbeing.

2) Dave Wakeman shares his insights on 3 Ways to Think about Risks. The one that resonates the most with me is “Understand that if risk wasn’t involved, there would be no change.”

3) One of my favorite writers on the topic of the future of work, Dror Proleg, asks Is the AI boom good or bad for cities and offices? Dror hypothesizes that we are “heading to a world where fewer people generate more and more economic activity.” It’s a long blog post, but worth the read!

4)  Is the Agile Movement at an inflection point?? Mike Griffith points to several other articles on how agile is becoming mainstream and thought leaders are even considering changes to Scrum to improvement adoptability.

5) I published this blog several years ago, but it is still relevant today 9 Tips for Managing Creative Teams. It you are managing a team trying to build something new, make space for them to be creative, and allow time for investigation and failure.

One question for YOU to ponder:
  • As you grow, what do you need to change in yourself and leave behind?
